Anderson Silva boxed professionally, went 1-1

I was reading about this. So I checked BoxRec and his record and people he fought were exactly what I read. I don't know if this has been posted before, if so sorry. But I found this interesting.

5/22/98...Silva made his pro debut against Osmar Luiz Teixeira who was 10-2 and Teixeira knocked out Silva in the second round.

8/6/05...Silva fought Julio Cesar DeJesus and knocked him out in the second.

Both fights took place in Brasil.

Who the hell makes their pro debut against a guy 10-2?

10-2 in Brazil is a lot different.

yap, its pretty strange that his first pro fight is with a "seasoned" fighter.

Anyway, that was like 11 years ago. He is much better now in everything (including boxing as evident in his UFC 101 ko victory).

And no, he still cannot beat Roy Jones.

anderson is the only fighter i like in MMA because he's prob the only one who knows how to box.. But Jones would put a hurting on him.. the guy lost to a freakin bum with 24 losses.. MMA fighters just suck so bad at boxing that they make silva look godly..

Yuriorkis Gamboa fought a guy who was 6-1

Odlanier Solis fought a guy who was 32-7

I know I know, them 2 are exceptions because their amateur pedigree I'm just saying.
