Better resume Cotto or Margarito?

SSM is the stand out name on cottos resume and is a better fighter than anyone margarito has been in the ring with.

margarito has a very respectable resume with cintron, pwill, clottey, etc and cotto has a similar amount of very respectable names but imo SSM gives cotto the slight edge

Cotto when he had 10 fights was fighting guys lie Jukko and former champ Bazan. he was taking risks too.

It wasnt like he was cruising along and then got the big names.

I completly agree. Cotto has had the opportunity to fight just about anyone he wants and has been handled by Arum and his team well. He's been bred to fight big fights. Margarito has not had those chances and had been getting the crap end of Arum's attention. Then when he did get his big break after beating Cotto he gets KTFO and then sidelined for a year while having a dark cloud put over him.

at 140 cotto fought a bunch of floyd's left-overs.

at 147 cotto had his choice of opponents. whenever cotto fought bums, it was because arum was building him up to be THE cash cow.

margo came up the hard way and had to fight bums because no one else would fight him.

you can't compare cotto w/ margo cause cotto came up easy while margo fought tooth and nail the whole way to get to the top. cotto came into the sport w/ a silver spoon in his mouth.

I think Margarito has a good resume. They are probably about even. Margarito has Martinez, Clottey, Cintron, and Cotto himself on his resume. I guess I would probably have to say Margarito unless you want to not factor in Cotto's loss to him.

Cotto has a better 147 resume than Margarito as well...only arguable since Cotto lost to Margarito

Margarito beat Cotto, Clottey, Cintron, Martinez and a bunch of cab drivers...

Cotto beat former champ Judah, Quintana(who went on to beat P.Will and win a title), Shane Mosley, and Joshua Clottey...
