HBO SPORTS PARTNERS WITH EMMY®-WINNING COMEDIAN PAUL MECURIO TO LAUNCH GOT NO GAME WITH PAUL MECURIO
Segments Will Launch Simultaneously On HBO.com, YouTube And iTunes
HBO has entered into a partnership with Emmy® - and Peabody Award-winning comedian Paul Mecurio, commissioning a series of web segments entitled GOT NO GAME WITH PAUL MECURIO for HBO’s Digital Platforms, including HBO.com, YouTube and iTunes. Beginning July 31, his original segments can be viewed by logging on to hbo.com/gotnogame.
GOT NO GAME WITH PAUL MECURIO features three boxing segments, including Mecurio’s interviews with iconic ring announcer Michael Buffer, accomplished HBO boxing host Jim Lampley and several behind-the-scenes individuals who do everything from stitching up the fighters between rounds to forming a band to entertain the crowd. Three football segments spoof what really happens when referees enter the booth to review plays. And a special “Race in Sports” segment spoofs the fictitious top-secret conversations that might have occurred had there been an “Interracial Summit on Athletics,” leading to the negotiations in the division of sports among the races in 1959.
Former Wall Street lawyer Paul Mecurio was a writer and performer on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and starred in his own “Comedy Central Presents” half-hour special. He is currently a regular guest satirist on CNN, VH1 and MSNBC. Mecurio’s essay “Consumer Man,” was published in the New York Times Magazine, and he has a recurring segment on the nationally syndicated morning radio show “The Bob & Tom Show,” entitled “The Image Makeover Guy.” -
