Who even takes Floyd seriously anymore? He has proven himself countless times to be a racist, contradictory dim wit.

I would venture to say that he IS a hero to a lot of people and not just blacks. I say that because here is a kid that came from nothing and made something out of himself. He had a dream to be the best that he could be at something and he is STILL living that dream out. So, IN THAT RESPECT, he is a hero to ALOT of people by his sheer drive and determination. Personally, I admire Mayweather because our lives are SIMILAR. My dad was a fighter long before I was born and he was very good at it. As a little kid, he had me in the gym grooming me to be a fighter (SEE ME WITH MY GUARDS UP IN THE AVATAR OVER TO THE RIGHT!!!). He eventually lead me into other sports, but that was the first experience that I VIVIDLY remember having with my dad and that was 20 years ago! So when I heard about Mayweather and how he grew up and his life story, I saw some parallels and to see him go all out to achieve his dreams and goals, it actually gave meEXTRA motivation (I was already motivated by looking up to other athletes as well) to continue to pursue my dreams and goals. In all reality, he is a hero to more people than we know and its not just because he is a boxer. Think about the people that he has fed in his hometown for Thanksgiving every year that he always talks about. Think about the battered women that he always talks about. He has done charity work in those fields, so he is a hero to more people than we actually know. Those things don't always get reported though.

I'll say this, no matter HOW a person of influence is viewed by the larger population, that person is STILL SOMEONE'S HERO. ...and that's reality.

Really? He does this & calls diego corrales a wife beater but he gets into fights with women himself? Plus his uncle?

You need a new hero, someone who is actually heroic.

I think you completely missed what I said. I, V. Webb look as him as hero by his drive and determination to achieve a SPECIFIC goal.

Also, if he has gotten into fights with women in the past, and NOW he tries to do things to assist them, where is the wrong with that?
