..Realistically, Is MANNY PACQUIAO (and his camp) Helping Boxing Out...

By making such a big deal out of title belts. Why help distort the championship landscape by adding another EVEN MORE BULL**** title to the forefront?

Especially coming from the number one p4p ranked guy in The Ring Magazine, the same publication that tries to move away from all that confusion.

its a big help in boxing "if" pac wins cotto's belt cause he will be the first man to win titles in 7 divisions and that contributes a lot to boxing history. about the negotiations, let them deal with that. who gets who wont hurt boxing

Pacman is destroying boxing. He creates new belts daily and forces fighters down. He forced Oscar,Morales and now Cotto down. He doesn't care about the sport, he cares about himself and the money. What is even worse is he fans. They are a disgrace to boxing. They don't know anything about boxing. They just follow Pacman.

That's nice, for a selling point.

What I'm talking about is the casual fans that would find that to be interesting, will in the end be left confused once that hype dies down. Once they get over the glamour of him doing something no one has ever done, they'll be left with 3 to 4 world champions in a division that Manny Pacquiao doesn't see a future in for himself.

Not to mention that this 6 or 7 titles bull**** that Mayweather, Pacquiao and De La Hoya always spewed is just that. Bull****. De La Hoya was a world champion in ONE division. Mayweather was in TWO and Manny Pacquiao was in three, four at the most if you ask certain people.

I think people are using the wrong reasons to discount titles at catchweights; it's nothing new. Period. It's happened before--and I didn't hear this much controversy about it until recently. People are wrongfully using Cotto's unwillingness to put his belt on the line to attack the whole idea of catchweight titles. What people should be doing is attacking the sanctioning bodies who are forcing fighters to put their belts on the line.

Also, Pacquiao hasn't done a damn thing to change the landscape of championships belts. That's unequivocal BS. Prove it. Pacquiao was offered the title shot by the sanctioning body and he accepted it. End of story. What's wrong is that WBO is forcing Cotto to put it on the line--simply for the sanctioning fees. WBC is just as bad for wanting some of the Manny's success by making this bullcrap belt. Pacquiao never accepted it either--he said he "appreciated" the sentiments; and he likely knows why WBC made it--the sanctioning fees.

So quite making Pacquiao out to be the villain here. It's ludicrous

i dont think its not just about selling the fight. its also about history. if pac cant do it, at least, one man attempted to make history and his name will be there. in the end its still good for boxing imo
