How in the hell wasnt this fight named foty?Is the Ring that biased?

The first Rd is crazy with G-Man raining blows on benn and knocking him out the ring,how the fight went as long as it did is anybodys guess.
Terrible ending but everything leading up to it was classic.

Your thread makes NO sense to me, was definately one of the greatest fights of all-time and it didnt seem at the time like it was going on too long at all. Yes the outcome was a tradegy but the fight was a classic

The next year was a real bad choice for FOTY.

Holyfield-Tyson 1 was definitely not more deserving than fights like Barrera-McKinney, Gatti-Rodriguez, and Bowe-Golota 2.

Also, the 1970s where it was "let's just give it to a notable heavyweight fight" so Foreman-Young gets chosen above one of the greatest fights ever in Saad-M.Johnson 1.
