But, if Schaeffer(former Banker) is the brain of GBP, closing deals, the one in the backroom wheelin' n' dealin', just exactly what the f**k does De La Tonto do?

Now that he's a full-time promoter, it seems to me that his main job is to dress in nice suits/look good for the camera's while sittting ringside/ then go inside the ring and stand behind his fighter.

It seems, the best De La Hoya can do is smile for the camera, and dress nice.

I'm sure he has alot of input on the boxing side of things, but, ****, he was a former prizefighter, it's expected. But, as a promoter, I don't know, I'm not clear of his job duties.

It's easy to put up a business, any business, big, small. All it needs to is $$$$ to put it up. And De La Tonto has it from his prizefighting days.

Oscar is just the face of it because the name Golden Boy will always sell because of Oscar. He just sits back and collects. Oscar also has alot of pull with the fighters. Alot of guys just want to sign with him because of the money he's made and if he comes to pressers then that automaticaly makes the fight bigger for the casual fan. Its like Oscar has his own stamp of approval

On another note why on earth did he make Mosely and Hopkins Partners? I have nothhing against them but don't think he had to make them partners. Well I guess Hopkins can talk the fight up but you could just hire someone to do that.

IMO, I think he is more likely the name so GBP can sell. Remove DLH there and more likely than not GBP will be bankrupt.

Who cares if he's a front man? In corp world, execs always surround themselves with people smarter than themselves... that's nothing new. And unless you are a stockholder, who cares about what his actual job duties are? Like you're really interested in ODLH going over balance sheets with HBO, Schaefer, and his day to day duties.

Just be happy GBP is producing shows like Fight Night Club when Wednesday Night Fights, Telefutura, and Sentanta have all dropped boxing THIS YEAR alone!
