How is Hatton Overrated??

That's a good question. Who overrates Ricky Hatton? If anything he is becoming slightly underrated. These days people call him a bum for losing to the last two P4P #1 fighters in the sport. If Hatton is healthy which I'm not sure of anymore, the guy is still among the top at 140 and can mug and fight his way to victories over most in the division.

Hatton is the most overrated fighter not just british fighter i have ever come across. He has loadsssss of fans who are clueless about how boxing works. Hatton is VASTLY overrated...If he was a cat from Jersey w/ no fan base he would have been a FNF fighter on ESPN. He beat a SHOT tzyou thats it...A SHOT J.L. Castillo and then who? feather fisted Paulie? Dude would have got KO'd by Lazcano if it wasn't for the ref saving him with that shoelace timeout crap.

That is extremely harsh from you Ray. Boxing needs all the fans it can get,whether casual or died in the wool clued up. Ricky is a very good fighter who has achieved a lot and come up short when it came to the very best. He has also made a lot of fighters very good pay days. Ricky Hatton is a better version of Arturo Gatti. He goes out there and fights he has action packed fights and if he does loose he leaves on his shield. he got knocked down what two times in teh PAC fight and kept on coming in the second round...Like said for a limited physical specimen he did go along way....i give him credit and done alot for the sport of boxing....Arturo gatti was sim in the manner that his fights were action packed....Hatton still could beat alot of top JWW....Lefty

No that isnt harsh on Hatton, I love the fact that he has loadssss of fans and brings them to his fights but if i have to judge him in the ring then my assessment is exactly what i wrote earlier, I have been to 4 of hatton's fights myself before he fought Tsyzu but the facts are Hatton is fighter that gets hyped up because people like him and want to see him win.

If you tell some hatton fanatic that he would love to Mayweather(Before they fight) they would make you feel like you're ******ed, Hatton for me is overrated.

As with most things on this board, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Many people overrate him,but just as many seriously underrate him. If he was as ****e as many people here would like others to think, then he would never have even got past british title level. I am sure that if he never throws another punch in anger again,then he will look back on his career with pride and dignity.
