Yeah but he'd be about 50 by the time the Tourney ends, I can't see B-Hop having another 5 fights in him. He should be looking towards the winners of Dawson-Johnson & Pavlik-Williams.

Also on subject, the Palle bs won't stop Kessler taking part in the Tourney. This is a matter between Palle and Sauerland and will be sorted out in the courts. Palle cannot sue Showtime, he has no case, whatever the contract says, he cannot stop Kessler from earning a living when he hasn't done anything in terms of trying to sort out a Kessler fight for over a year since his last fight.

I see Oganov beating Green,Green was afraid of Bika. Green should fight Showtime Stevens but he is scared after their amateur fight where he was dropped flat on his face, check it out on youtube.

it would be huge let down if kessler cant fight. Only way this thing keeps its luster is if kelly pavlik, paul williams, or bute/andrade replace kessler.
You know, I really wouldn't mind seeing Pavlik move up and get a spot in this tourney. It's a shame that he's no longer considered a top contender after his decisive loss to Bernard Hopkins and a mediocre (although successful) 9 round fight with a mediocre figher Rubio (keep in mind, this is the guy that wears bloody air jordans in his boxing matches). It's going to take a couple of fights for Pavlik to be considered amongst the elite again. That said, I've mentioned a couple of times that I wouldn't be terribly averse to Hopkins dropping down and entering the super six to finish his career. I'm not exactly sure that SMW is the correct class for B Hop, not to mention some people (I'm not one of them) find his style to be rather boring, but he'd certainly bring a big name and a lot of talent to the tournament. I'm not sure that he'd be contractually allowed to do so.

Additionally.... I don't think pascal would fare to terribly either...

There is a difference between concept and execution. The execution is hitting turbulence. [details]
I'm puzzled by this article - Cliff's articles are usually very good, but given that Sauerland knew when they signed up Kessler that Palle would sue them, and presumably are very confident of winning the court case; and given that Palle hasn't got a whisper of a case against anyone else other than Sauerland, I don't see why Palle's letter that Cliff is basing his article on changes anything at all. Kessler will be in the tournament and nothing will or can change that unless Sauerland turn out to have badly miscalculated and lose in court (which is highly unlikely, as they have plenty of high powered solicitors advising them).

Also, Cliff rightly points to the terrible (IMO) anomaly of Bute's exclusion from the tournament, but I would expect a website containing as many respected, high calibre boxing writers as boxingscene has to be able to do some investigative journalism and get to the bottom of why he was excluded, and I'm surprised that they haven't done this.

The reason is that he could have fought Abraham this year and didn't. That is mainly down to Arum, but Pavlik should have just told Arum to make the fight and stop the bull****. It reflects badly on Pavlik that he didn't do that, and that Abraham eventually got tired of waiting and moved up. Because of that, Pavlik has lost a huge amount of credibility with many boxing fans, and IMO deserved to be excluded - especially as he made it clear after the Hopkins loss that he felt he couldn't perform at his best above Middleweight, and this is a Super Middleweight tournament.

Obviously, if Pavlik fights and beats Williams, that would restore his lost credibility, but it'll be too late for the tournament by then. And personally I'd bet a lot of points on Williams if they do fight.

Mikkel Kessler is the fighter this tourney can least afford to miss. The only replacement close to him would obviously be Lucien Bute. He's no.2 at SMW and a euro as well.

I'm pretty sure that Sauerland in their contract with Kessler have stipulated that Palle was to be Kessler's problem. At least that's what I'd have done.

Palle can very well sue both Showtime and Sauerland the way I see it. If he is right in him having the legal rights to Kessler they have been tampering with his protegée.

He may not be able to directly stop Kessler from fighting, but if he's right he can possibly demand a large percentage of Kessler's purse hence dampening Kessler's incentive to fight.

What Kessers needs is a good hitman. Palle must be taken out.

Without Kessler this tournament is meaningless, Bute is extremely overated and could never fill his shoes. Kessler must be in this tournament someone should shoot that ****sucker Palle.
