Anyone else think that super/light weight classes should be removed?

seriously, IMO it removes a lot of the competition out. This is why i think many people are more into mma now than boxing.

First, there are currently around 80~ belts according to http://boxing.about.com/cs/rankingsc...s/a/champs.htm, seriously, there should only be one belt per weight class to prove who is the baddest one of them all, it ticks me off that berto/mosely/cotto all have belts, but in a "stacked" division, no one wants to fight each other right now

Second, the quality of the top 10 fighters of each weight class will be highly competitive if fighters were forced to stay at 135, or jump up to 147. It would most likely stop a lot of ricky fattons and erik morales' binge eatings so they can still make the weight class since going up a weight class would be extremely hard to do.

Lastly, MMA has done this, and it has worked quite well, each division has a huge list of competitors, only thing thats weak is their heavyweight division (just like boxing), i'm sure many people would follow boxing more if they didn't have to remember like 5 different belt owners and just say like "shane mosely is welterweight champ, marquez is lw champ, pavlik is middleweight champ, etc etc"

there would be no more runnning and hiding from competition. You want good pay, you go up the ranks. No more cherry picking ****

I wouldn't mind the divisions if there weren't so many ****** belts.

i wouldn't mind it either up until the marquez/pacquiao ordeal, marquez wanted a rematch, pacquiao couldn't make weight, so he went up in the weight classes

Less divisions and less belts would be ideal, i could live with less belts. The ring mag belt is the only one that really has any kind of meaning.
