BoxingScene.com was advised by several sources that Budd Schulberg, a well-known screenwriter, novelist and sports writer, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 95. Schulberg had been in poor health for the last few months but he was still very active and always on the move. Schulberg was former chief boxing correspondent at Sports Illustrated. He was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2002. [details]

He lived long, I don't think I'd ever want to live past 70. Well, R.I.P. -
Well he had a long life, far more than any of us har har chill in heaven man.Comment

I still have to get around to reading The Harder They Fall.
At least this is a recent boxing death where you can say the guy lived a full life.Comment

He had a great life, I read his book "Sparring with Hemingway"

this guy was 6yrs old when dempsey won the titel he has seen boxing from there till now. wow what a great interview about boxing that would have been ,or maybe he did one in his last years. any one know?

Another sad day for the boxing community. Schulberg was a legend. If you have never read his work, please do. IMO he was a much better writer than Bert Sugar.
