So it sounds like the answer here is, which @Nuurzhaelan no one has really said this plainly, this can't be a welterweight championship fight AND a fight with a catchweight. The welterweight LIMIT is 147, so if this were a championship fight that would automatically be considered the weight limit for the fight. That's easy enough for me to piece together and I really don't need any further discussion on this. Thanks to the hospitable posters, looking forward to talking with y'all soon.

No one can tell you otherwise and use facts to back it up. the facts are that anything between 141 and 147 is welterweight. This is apparently recognized by all sanctioning bodies and most sane people around the world save most but not all of puerto rico. There is no logical argument to refute that. That is why your thread is going no where, these cotto stans don't use logic they use emotion (hence all the whining) and just parrot each other.

I say let cotto weigh whatever he wants to weigh and pacquiao weigh whatever he wants to weigh, as long as both are within 141-147.....FOR TITLE ! DAMN, IS IT THAT EASY? YES !

Pullcounter? what about each weigh what they want(141-147) for title fight? If pacquiao wants 141 cool, if cotto wants 141 or 147...cool. You think pacquiao team would object?

If team pac gave some money to cotto for the belt all these idiots would shut up quick.
Damn, I have to on this rare occasion agree with Pullcounter. In the negotiations the Title/Weight/Split had to come up as the 3 most important points. Pac CLEARLY got the Split in his favor........The weight was in the middle. I'm sure if Pac had insisted on the Title initially he would've know he would have to concede something.......either weight or split. I believe Cotto was/is just holding that as a bargaining chip for a better split. With 5-10 more points in the split I'm pretty damn sure all this Belt on the Line or not talk with QUICKLY DIE.

Cotto says 145 lbs is fine for him. So why are cotto stans still complaining about it???

If cotto can't make 145 lbs he shouldn't sign the contract.

If cotto doesn't want to defend the title at 145 he should bail on the $15 million, fight someone else for $6-3 million and keep his belt.

                It just that simple!!!!

Because the fight caps the weight at 141-45.

                  Not at 41-47.

                  You said it yourself.

Drop the catchweight or *** off FudgePacky.

They BOTH verbally agreed to 145 but NO TITLE. Why is pacquiao demanding title now?
