I think Cotto is a bad ass, and is easily my favorite boxer. Shane did not get his ass whooped. He was defeated, even convincingly, but not whooped. I agree with you, though, that his bragging is getting a bit much. He's the best....cuz he beat margacheato? That's like arguing that hatton would have been p4p best if he beat either Manny or Mayweather. I think it should take more than simply beating someone to be considered 'the best'. To win a championship is one thing, because there are variables, but a guy who consistently proves to come out on top is WAY better than a guy who took a chance and maybe got lucky...ah la Rahman beating Lewis. I don't think too many people ever considered Rahman anything other than a journeyman. He got lucky and that was patently proven by Lewis his second go.

I dont like to use triangle theory but if you look at all 3 Margarito, Mosley and Cotto they all fought each other. Mosley faired BY FAR the best out of those 3. Cotto did win the fight against Mosley but it was very close and Mosley was not hurt, dropped or knocked out in either of his fights against those guys. More than you could say for the other two.

Now Cotto may very well beat Mosley if they ever rematch, and if he does he will be considered top dog at WW, but until then mosley has a better "claim" to it.
