They only say boxing is dead because there's a new puppy in the spot light. Just because MMA seems a lot more popular, who's to say that it would carry the same weight as boxing.

Boxing will never die as long as there's old men with money laying around.

But Boxing without a doubt isn't where it was between 81-mid 90s as far as crossover athletes like Sugar Ray, Marvin Hagler, Mike Tyson, etc and overall coverage.

I mean, the Hagler vs Leonard fight for those of you who are maybe a little too young was covered in length before and after the fight by major networks.
