I rewatched Toney vs Barkley

Toney was awesome in that fight, i watched the Nunn fight yesterday, he was badass. the Jirov fight.. Holyfield.. Ruiz.. he put up awesome performances, i still need to get the Barkley fight, he was really kickass. the work ethic.. yea.. his chin was amazing too man, i've never seen him rocked ever at all!

True. I think the only time I've ever seen him hurt was in the Reggie Johnson fight. Here's the video.

its sad that a fighter like barkley who beat tommy hearns twice went on to lose eleven more fights after this before calling it quits...this article shows how after boxing he ended up back right where he came from without a dime to his name

Yes. He KOd Hearns the first time they fought. Hearns was dominating until Barkley landed a beast of a left hook in the 4th or 5th round, I believe. They fought a second time and Barkely won once again this time by split decision.

It's sad to see James Toney today. I guess that fight is a masterpiece. He was like 135 Floyd at that time. Great defense. If he could only retains the body he has on that fight. He could have been one of the greatest.

There are many champions who suffered the same fate as Barkley. SRR died poor too.

The fight against Prince Charles Williams was even better IMO. He coulda finished him off sooner in the last round, but he wanted to do it in big style and he did. One of the best finishers I've seen. God only knows what happened to Toney in the RJJR fight.
