  • Mosley vs Berto Talks Will Be Revisited in NY

BoxingScene.com was advised that Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, will be flying in to New York this week to sit down with Lou DiBella, and HBO, and hopefully come to terms for a welterweight unification between WBA champion Shane Mosley and WBC champion Andre Berto for early December. Schaefer and DiBella tried to make the fight a few weeks ago but the offer to Berto was no more than the fighter had previously made for lesser opponents, like Collazo and Urango. [details]

This should be an easy fight for Shane if they can reach a deal.

I think Berto will give Mosley a much tougher fight than most people here seem to think he can, or I could be wrong, and Mosley blows him away.

          Mosley wins this by Decision.

Berto was ****ted on for his performance against Urango but no one gives him props for adjusting to Urango's headbutting style. Berto fought Urango in a way to protect himself from headbutts and everyone ****s on him for that?

Plus it was a shut out, he won every single round. He didn't KO him, so what, no one has KO'ed Urango and no one will anytime soon.

Shane is still a great fighter, but there is a reason he really doesn't want to fight Berto.Speed, speed ,and more speed.Berto has the key weapons that gives older fighters a fit. Speed and stamina. Shane admitted himself after beating Miyorga that Berto is a younger version of himself. I think Berto at this stage of his young career may be a little sweeter than the "Sugar Man".The results would be similiar to that of Terry Norris vs Sugar Ray Leonard. The old lion will show flashes of his greatness but fall victim to the younger hungrier lion. I think Shane would keep it competitive until the 7th round, but by that point he would be battling Berto and father time. This is the fight that could propell Berto into superstardom.(That's only if he's the real deal.)
