Pacman thought he could beat Maragrito who was the best WW in the world. But why didn’t Pacman mention Williams’s name. Williams was ranked the second best WW in the world with WBO belt. And also beat Margarito.


But NOW the situation is in the favour of the American, yet Pacman chooses a Rican instead

Mosley is ranked as the best WW in the world. Cotto is ranked the second best WW in the world with WBO title. The roles are revered now. But Pacman chooses Cotto who has a “win” over Mosley instead of the number one ranked WW. Why is it this time he wanted the number 2 not number one

I'll actually bite and treat this opinion seriously.

-Diaz was his first fight at 135, a tune up. He was picked out by Oscar after the fight, at 147, and there is no way Nate Campbell is a better option than Oscar De La Hoya. Remember, people thought there was no way little Manny Pacquiao would do anything to Oscar.

-Hatton was the top junior welterweight in the world when Manny fought him, coming off a beatdown of Paulie Malignaggi who was considered one of the best in the division. If Pac had fought Bradley it would have been considered the same as fighting David Diaz at the time.

-Paul Williams is a junior middleweight/middleweight, and we all know he would beat up Manny. It is not a compelling fight. Pac was never seriously going to challenge Margarito either.

-Pac didn't duck Mayweather. Pac wanted to fight Mayweather after Hatton, and Floyd had the chance but decided to fight JMM instead.

-Mosley wasn't even an option. In fact, Mosley didn't even open his mouth until negotiations with Cotto were well underway. Besides, Cotto was a much easier fight to make since both he and Pac are Top Rank. If you think there have been difficulties making this fight, imagine Bob Arum dealing with Golden Boy. Forget all the concessions Mosley was claiming, if the fight was actually going to be made a lot of that goes out the window.

Any person with sense and "real" knowledge of the game would read this and literally laugh (like pretty much everyone else on here is doing).

Yea, let's fight Timothy Bradley and make peanuts instead of fighting Ricky Hatton who at the time was still the recognized #1 140lb fighter and had a huge following even after the loss to Floyd. Where would they have even televised the Bradley fight on, the TLC channel? Bradley is still trying to make a name for himself let alone getting a big fight with Pacquiao because he weighs 140lbs too?
