Lol technically the referee stopped it while he was on his feet, and he fell right after. Also Capatello should have thrown in the towel sooner. The 9th round beating was unnecessary.

He got beat like a red headed step child, it was not even close. If Margarina had not been wearing her plaster, she would have been stopped around the same round as Shane stopped her.

He stood up and took everything Mosley hit him with. Even went out for a certain pounding in the 9th until the official/his corner ended it. He was ready to take more FWIW, if he'd been allowed to get back to his feet.

There's a youtube video titled A Boxer: Going Out On His Shield! that lays it out thus,

        I may be badly hurt...

        But not yet done!

        Let them stop the fight!

But I won't say "no mas"!

Sorry, man. But Tony embodied that particular facet of the Warrior archetype the night Mosley trashed him.

You can hate him all you want, but you can't take that one off him.

Same thing, if your corner throws in the towel, that is quitting.
          LOL

Fighter's corner stopping the fight and fighter voluntarily quitting are 2 completely different things.

Tony's corner wanted the fight done after the 8th. Margarito went out, took the bombs, stood up 'til he was knocked off his feet at roughly the same moment his corner and the official stepped in.

You're reaching for an extra moral victory that isn't there. Tony got his ass beat up...that should be enough revenge for a Cottoboy without needing to spin it.

Margarito stood up and took his beating. It's a fact. Don't be insecure.

Margarito is more of a man than Cotto will ever be.

                  He got caught 'cheating'.

He went out there knowing what was ahead, the hate is mostly from Cotto fans that are just showing their insecurities.
