Why aren't Bute and Balszay in Super 6?

I think they have a more legitimate claim than Ward and Dirrell. Who are those two? Lucian Bute and Karoly Balszay are both titleholders, Ward and Dirrell are not. But I guess it's all about getting as many Americans as possible into it.

    Obviouslyb ecause they weren't invited.

But I agree Bute should definetey be in there.Balszay too but not before Andrade or Bika.

But the point was to have americans indeed.

No one has heard of Balzay and you'd have to drag Bute out of Canada with a gun to his head. Plus I imagine Showtime insisted on an american contigent.

Exactly. Showtime wants a payoff for building up Ward and Dirrell, and of course for acquiring Taylor. Not to mention that most of their audience is American.

They wanted at least half of the fighters to be American, since it will be televised in the US on Showtime.

Yeah. The original concept was for the super six series to be boxings equivalent of the Ryder Cup in Golf. Best yanks vs. best euros.

Practical matters likely excluded Bute and Balszay however. Bute is rumoured to have refused an offer wanting more money and Balszay has been quoted for saying that he wants to milk his title in Germany for a couple of defenses before stepping up.

                    Which to me is BS.
