I disagree there are faster fighters like Calderon and Paulie with 0 punching power. Punching power is a combination of things, not speed.

Who said it was only speed? I'm only arguing against fightingfigs' statement that speed is a "small factor" in punching power.

My bad, I could've sworn you agreed with some dude that speed is power, not combination.

It's all good my Puerto Rican brother. I am the Edison Miranda of this forum: adopted by Puerto Ricans as one of their own.

          Now love me.

I'm sure Cotto is a hundred times tougher than hatton but that doesn't mean he can't get knocked out. I see a late round stoppage by Pac more than anything else.

True that, while Manny is fast it's not only his speed that creates his power. He's a natural puncher. By that I mean, his physical form is such that he can generate great power upon impact. It's a combination of things that creates concussive power. Base strength, hand size, forearm and grip strength, properly turning over the punch and clinching the fist, commitment to the punch, all of which Manny possesses or does very well.

One can tell how hard Manny hits just from looking at how calloused the bones of his knuckles are. Mayorga's are the same way, as are Mosley's.

Cotto can do one of two things: Respect Manny's power or be like Hatton and think he can try to bully the little guy around. If he does the latter:

cotto will respect his power but as the rounds go on both fighters will start to feel more confident and this is where a knockout is likely to come
