Couldn't dissagree more and you don't know how Mexicans think. Yes We are proud people but Mexicans also embrace champions and people of quality. While Pacman did defeat a lot of Mexican champions, he also lost to Morales and arguably lost to JMM in their second fight.
I think people overstate his "dominance" over Mexican fighters. He's a good guy and a guy that's easy to root for. Plus, Filipino's are like Mexicans in a lot of ways. Both very devote Catholic countries, both hard working and been through a lot in terms of fighting for thier independence and both love the sport of boxing.
Mexico is a great place to train because of the elevation and the quality of gyms and trainers there.
I'm Mexican and I respect Pacquiao very much. He's a great champion and a great person. He's given a lot to his people and you have to respect that.
that's true at least the Mexican fighters not counting bums like Diaz were able to be competitive. Ricky Hatton got obliterated in a round and a half and Miguel Cotto probably isn't going to see the final bell.
I've read that article by Marley before he's one of the worst writers out right now. It's expected that extra chromosome having nuthuggers are going to write idiotic stuff on forums but coming from a guy like Marley is real unprofessional.First of all, Mexicans arent obsessed with the Mexico- Philippines rivalry as some pacs fans may assume therefore training there wont be a problem. He also wont have to worry about obsessed fans following his every move and serving as a distraction like in SoCal or the phillipines.
As for the article, praising pac is one thing but this Michael Marley guy has a serious problem with Mexicans. He wrote another article earlier this year which is filled with as much nuthugger hate as you'll ever read.

this guy is a moron i have been to mexico and live there for a year the people could care less about Pac or boxing . they are to busying earning a liveing to give a f#*k about Pac. if they got a promble with Pac it would be settle in the ring not the streets. Pac going to mexico is not going to put his life in danger you guys are takeing the feud to seriously maybe in the Philippines thats all you got and think the mexican people would react like you by trying to kill a boxer that beat your heros. i can a sure you the mexican people wont act like you guys. thats the impression i get from some of these post of these Pctards that they are animalsComment

It's MeXico not Mejico, don't sound ingnorant. Second, I bet you Nacho would take Cotto on if Cotto humbled himself to ask him.
I don't want to be dissrespectful but for the most part, I have found Mexicans to be more knowledgable fans that Puertoricans by far. Mexico has been invloved in boxing at a high level for a very, very long time.
They appreciate great fighters reguardless of where they are from. There was a nice piece done on HBO when Margarito and Cotto were going to fight and they went to two different restaurants. One in PR and the other in East Los Angeles.
The patrons in the East LA place were for Margarito but most picked Cotto to win. Where as in PR, 100% of them picked Cotto and gave no chance to Marg....

i agree... for most boxers.. but Pacman?? the mexicutioner.. lol.. the man who destroys all mexican in mexico.. thats like bernard hopkins moving and training full time in Puerto Rico.. lol.. People are still mad about the Tito loss and the fact he stepped on the flag didnt help it either.. i think its crazy.. go to the ba***** like they were talking about before. .
No, it's not.
For a start, Pacquio has never made racist comments and nor has he stamped on a national flag in front of scores of cameras.Comment
