    The most extreme "upmover"

Guillermo Jones of Panama will go down in history not because he has won the WBA cruiserweight title, but because he is the only cruiserweight to start his career as a WELTERWEIGHT!! This is the most extreme case of moving up in weight ever. How is that possible??!

Slightly? Toney never fought below middleweight. It's 13 pounds less! It's easier to move up to heavyweight for a middleweight than to move up to cruiser for a WW.

Yea, but Toney isn't 6'4! Thats the most astonishing thing about it. Jones started fighting at 21, so he couldn't have been much shorter then.

I'd like to see him fight Adamek btw. He hasn't fought anybody since he won the title last september, Guillermo. That's weird. I'd think a WBA champ should be mandated to defend his title more often.

Yeah, but not so sudden. Jones jumped over middleweight and went straight from LM to SM and then fought briefly as a LHW before finally moving up to cruiserweight.
