    Cotto's Lawyer: "Nothing has change"

The back and fort fort the Welter Weight Championship of the World Boxing Organization (OMB) continues.

Faced with the refusal of Miguel Cotto of risking belt against Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino trainer, Freddie Roach, said then that there is no motivation for his boxer to face Cotto without the Title on the line.

"The WBO should make it a title fight. We do not need (the fight) if the belt is not at stake, "Roach told the newspaper The Bulletin filipino.

Cotto said in an activity to introduce its new line of clothing that is ready to vacate the belt if the OMB is compelled to defend ourselves.

However, the promoter Bob Arum hopes that the dispute is resolved.

"I told Miguel to not give reasons for Manny to not do the fight. This issue's title was something that was discussed, but there are many people who are creating problems, "Arum said via telephone to Primera Hora.

"I am ready to get out of my own pocket money to pay the fee," the founder of Top Rank.

Also, Gabriel Peñagarícano, legal advisor to Cotto, he noted that the terms of the agreement have not changed.

"Nothing has changed, but if Pacquiao wants it to befor the title, this is a new element that we will evaluate. He should be willing to give something back, "said Peñagarícano, who noted that the contracts have not yet been signed. "Since there was an agreement between all parties that it would be not be for the title, if they want change, we will listen."
Either 147 or a way bigger purse split for Cotto!

Never has a "facepalm" pic been more appropriate.

Looks like Danny already beat me to that.

            So here's a .gif.

Why did you take my post personal? Did you think it had anything to do with you? lol I don't know you from Adam or Eve. I am referring to the back and forth negotiations and the inability for these guys to get this ball rolling. A few fights have already fell through this year and I would hate this fight to be yet another one of those fights that falls apart in the making.

Not personal man. I think is a little annoying, but I love how Cotto is handling this situation. He is not backing down from his word and I love that!

Cotto is not backing on his word, that would be right. But he will defend that whether he likes it or not, if Cotto wins the Title will be vacant, if Pacquiao wins, he will be the Welterweight champion of the world. There's nothing Cotto can do as long as Pacquiao wants it. They have nothing to say about this issue, they can throw the belt at the garbage can right now, the title would still be at stake for Pacquiao. There's nothing impossible as longas Pac wants.it. Cotto can **********, the title would still be on the line.

Cotto is delusional if he thinks he can get more money. Pacquiao earned it the hard way giving shots and getting the higest percentage right now. What make Cotto think he deserves some money by getting Gift Decisions and coming off a KO loss against Margarito. Now he's trying to make the WBO some leverage w/c he knows he won against an bum fighter outta this world Michael Jennings.

The belt will be on the lines whether Cotto likes it or not Period.
