Only if he wears Cotto down enough and weakens him, then gets a nice clean shot in, or gets really lucky and gets him with a "Hatton" unexpected perfect shot. After watching him withstand Clottey's best shots, (and he got in quite a few...even uppercuts that rocked Cotto's head back), Manny will have to get lucky to hurt Cotto quick.

i agree....you don't always need power to stop somebody, the accumulation of punishment over the course of a fight, could lead to either a real stoppage, or a corner stoppage....but to answer the question, i think pacman does have enough power to do so.

i see ur from Ingrando homie..im from 2nd Ward..small world..
Who besides B-Hop has KO'd Oskie? Nobody..and even then...B-Hop got him with a liver shot...Oscar has a granite chin (as shown against Mosley, Tito, Mayorga, B-Hop, Vargas...etc..) so why should people knock Pac for not being able to KO him? Weight drained or not...you can't question DLH beard.

Manny won't "1 punch KO" Cotto....if Pac was to win...it would either be by late round stoppage or UD.

People give Pac too much credit for KO'ing Hatton. Hatton was never really that good and had the cancer of Floyd Sr in his corner. Hatton should have went back to his ugly hit and hold style yet Floyd had him all screwed up in his head. It's the same training mistake McGirt made when he tried to get Gatti to outbox Floyd Jr. Hopefully Cotto doesn't fight like he has lately and think he's a boxer. He's got to go in there and walk Manny down and dig the body. If he doesn't, Manny will pick him apart by leaping in and out. Size wise they are going to be close, but Cotto is much heavier handed.

Sweetie, what's so hard to understand? When you look at Cotto's defense, he doesn't really leave himself that open--which means, power shots are diminished to some degree. Pacquiao's power is more due to speed. If he doesn't get a chance to wind up like he did with Hatton--he'll have relly on quick shots to get through Cotto's guard like he did with Oscar, but it probably won't be enough to knock Cotto out. Then, you have to factor Cotto's punch resistence--which is quite good actually since he moved up to WW--so perhaps even if Pacquiao got a really, really good shot at Cotto's chin it would either just knock him down or severely stun him but not knock him out-I mean, he took loaded gloves from Margarito and Shane Mosley's punches. Come on.
