145 or 147 wont make a difference the point is that if manny fought oscar at 147 why make the vulnerable washed up cotto fight at 145. its because roach isnt as ****** as you *******s and is looking for any advantage he can get over the strongest opponent manny has been in the ring with. he never wanted this fight from day one and come nov 14 everyone will know whyComment

Roach think otherwise, he was puching for Cotto to come in at the lower weight possible He knows that Cotto would be affected making a lower weightComment

he'll come in at 146 and lose 1 mill instead of 2 at 147. he will be just fine since he came in at 146 his last couple fightsLook, i know for a fact that cotto won,t just say fck it and come in at 147 and lose a million bucks a pound because the whole point of fighting is to accumulate money so, you can throw that sht right out the window... And when he hit the scales he will make the weight but, he,ll be in for a beat down for sure... At best he,ll be at 80 percent... So long title, so long getting his ass knocked out by a guy who came all the way from 108 or some sht and so long career...Comment

lol What a ****** argument!
Urkal wasn't mandated or restricted to 146 the only limitation he had was to make the WW limit (147) to fight for the WW belt that's what Manny should do if he had a pair!!!Comment

People on here seem to think they have a clue about someone's weight. What's good for them and what's bad. The truth is, there's a lot of so called boxing writers on the web who make most of this **** up. You know, there was a time when there wasn't 18 or so weight divisions. Boxing did exist before Manny started fighting.

Not true. He fought Cottey at 146lbs, you're telling me 1lb will make him weak. If that's the case, he shouldn't fight at all regardless whether the title is on the line or not. BTW, here's a quote from Cotto.
No problem for Cotto at all and that's the usual weight that he weigh's in anyway. So there's no excuses for either fighter at all."Its no concern of mine whether it is 145 pounds or not," Cotto said.
"That is the usual weight that we cut down to for the weigh in, and in the ring—on fight night—I will go up eight to 10 pounds, so actually during the fight I will weigh around 155," stated Cotto.Comment
