He most likely can't make 147 comfortably anymore.

If that's the case he's stuck at 154.

Only Mosley might fight him at 154 as he's fought there before, but I don't see Cotto moving up to fight him there.

Nobody else can bring him good money at 154.

You might be right about that, making 147 at one point was gonna be a real problem for him. What he might need is a better trainer, someone who could improve his defense and teach him to throw more straighter punches, maybe then will he be able to become a force at 154.

It's not like Margarito didn't have losses before Mosley. Don't forget that Paul Williams also beat him clearly and that Santos dude also. So Margarito was never really that great. He just has a lot of power and great chin which enables him to finish off tired and/or hurt opponents.
