    Witter a threat?

As much as you guys dont want to compare him to Cotto, alot of the media who saw the N'Dou fight say that this is not the guy who fought Judah. They say that he was switching from right hand to left the whole fight and it seems very natural for him. They say that he has tremendous power. They said that Cotto and Mitchell couldnt really hurt N'Dou but Witter dropped him twice and had him hurt several other times and all this with a broken hand. The said that his style and power makes him a threat against any top guy in the division. You Cotto fans might not want to admit it but this guy might have more goods. Dont get me wrong. Cotto can clearly do more things but in boxing you dont always need to be able to do everything. A guy who can go from left to right with good speed and has tremendous power is a threat and I would love to see him and Cotto in the next fight

For the first time ever,I agree with you.

Witter signed with Goldenboy Promotions, which will do nothing but help him get to the top by getting him the best possible fights.I think he should challenge the crybaby of the division WBA titlist Vivian Harris, who I think is overrated due to his experience against World Class power punchers.I think Witter would give him or any 140pounder a run for their money with the exception of PBF and Zoo of course.

Did you make this thread because you like what you saw in Witter, or is it that you just dislike Cotto? This is the second thread you have made hyping Witter and bashing Cotto.

I'll tell you what I honestly think. Witter had a alot to prove against N'Dou and he did in fine form. He went from being an overprotected Warren fighter to a real contender with this win. I think he is on his way to make some great fights that he has a chance at winning. With that said, he still has a bit to prove. After losing his first step up with Juda, he fought an endless string of nobodies....then showed good with N'Dou. Now he has to show he can maintain that composure....I think he can, but I'm not 100% certain.

To compare Cotto to Witter is apples and oranges. Cotto chose to box N'Dou and he did very successfully. It was the smart way to fight N'Dou. Witter choose to be the puncher he is and tried to take N'Dou out....and it almost cost him the fight because he waisted his hand....would Cotto have taken that risk? NO.

Is it fair to say Cotto is the smarter fighter? Answer that.

It dosen't matter much to me, Witter impressed me and I always thought Cotto was good. I would like to see them fight.

From what I've seen of Witter he has pretty good power,(so did Naseem Hamed), He moves pretty good very unorthodoxed( like Hamed), He takes dangerous risks and shows a lack of quality defence (Like Hamed), imo put him up against a good technical fighter like Cotto and we'll see a heavier version of Barrera/Hamed. But as with Cotto give him time and he may surprise quite a few of the top guys, like I said he seems to have good power so there's always the punchers chance against anybody!

This is Witter's chance now to be a main player at 140, I have no doubt DLH will deliver the big fights fo him, they should aim for Gatti or Harris. Gatti is always open to shots and cuts very easy, Witter would take advantage of this and would stop Gatti. Harris is a bit of an unknown quantity we don't know how good he is (claims everyone is avoiding him), but he did get outboxed by Ray Oliveira, He's in the same situation as witter there both looking for the big fights could be a good move for both of them.

Just a minor point here, Witter is not a Warren fighter he fights for Mick hennessey, secondly how can you be portectedif you are thrown in with the then light welter champ at a weeks notice? THATS SACRIFICIAL NOT PROTECTED.

its his performance against Zab that has held him back with the Tv companies such as HBO cos he stunk the place out.

he has been rebuilding himself since then from a boxer / mover to unorthodox puncher.

He is a different fighter from when he fought Zab.
