There is no hope in sight for the heavyweight division in terms of a fighter being great and taking over.

However there is hope to bring back some glamour. I have been saying it since Vitali took over. We now have a champion who is big, good looking, well spoken, makes exciting fights and is WHITE!!.

to quote Ali "Nothing makes alot of green like a little white"

The public seems to really like Vitali and he gets great numbers in attendance and TV ratings. I think he has a chnace to become that crossover star in the heavyweight division that boxing needs. Not because he is great but because of the reasons I have listed.

I agree, (except I never find HW fights exciting ) , he might be really good to promote the sport,

We got us a white guy but no one can understand his English. It's like a scene out of the movie "Bedazzled"

Joe Mesi was a great white hope. The Klitschkos and Golota are still not viewed by the white viewer as "one of us". At least to me and a few other guys I know that watch boxing.
