im a fan - of his boxing, alas the showboating made me squirm, however, its a fight, not a dance off, so, i think he was a great, all be it slippery, boxer.
However, i have a question..
how many of the hardcore JC haters picked Lacy to beat him? Seeing as Lacy was favourite it must have been plenty of you
why is hopkins considered to be 'washed up' when he is currently ranked no.3 in the ring P4P list. Oh and Joe was 36 when they fought - hardly a spring chicken, and only 3 years younger than RJJ. Oh, and then Hopkins embarrassed KP - a man who, up until the hopkins fight, was considered far better than JC by those of you with a grudge against Joe. Correct me if im wrong, but no one seemed to make that point after KP got taken back to school. Pavlik was given a masterclass by hopkins. Not a bad result considering he's always seen as over the hill when mentioned in mind of the JC fight.
Now, this is not a 'nuthugger' thread, to use the term that so many of you delightfully use. I'd just like a bit of honestly.
I wonder if i'll get any as it seems honestly is something often missing in the 'humble' fight fan.
