With Hopkins turning 40 and getting ready to retire soon...the Middleweight division will be wide open for the taking. Is the young prospect Jermain Taylor the man to take over the division once Hopkins is out?

IMO, without a doubt. Hopkins will ensure that he retires instead of facing him.
If somehow Jermain Taylor doesn't wind up being Bernard Hopkins next opponent Jermain should fight Felix Sturm. It would be paring up the two brightest young fighters in the divison, I would like Taylor in that fight but Strurm is close to at his level.
how much longer do you guys think taylor can actually make middleweight
not much longer. there are already widespread rumors of difficulty making weight. I think he fights Hopkins later this year and win or lose jumps up in weight. All of Hopkins other opponents are tied up with fights so Taylor is the best option.

yeah, i think taylor should move up to supermidddle or even 175.
supermiddle is one of the weakest divs in boxing right now, taylor could easily be undisputed at 168, or he could go all the way up to 175 and have an easy time with everyone there except Glencoffe Johnson ( i bet if taylor goes to 175 he'll wait for johnson to retire or get beat by someone else ) i see Taylor putting a beating on Tarver, though, or i should say, i'd like to
im a fan of taylors but i dont think he could stay at middleweight too long......his body is big.....i would love to see a lacy vs taylor or tarver vs taylor
Taylor should be able to win the middle weight crown only after Hopkins retires. Right now I don't think he can beat Tito either. Lacy would give him a rough fight & might even stop him because Lacy has been in the ring his last 2 fights with alot tougher opposition than Taylor ever has.
