Roach is already taking credit away from Pacquiao's potential victory by saying that Cotto is not the same fighter after the Margarito fight. This sounds really familiar. They wouldn't have fucked with Cotto before he got beat down by Margarito. Roach, Pacquiao, and Khan are the biggest opportunists in the sport right now. I've never thought as highly as Cotto's in the ring abilities as some people do. But even so, I have to call a spade a spade. Roach and Manny would not have fought Cotto if they thought he was 100% on top of his game.

What would Roach have to say about Shane Mosley other than the fact that he is old? What weaknesses would he point out besides that? The losses on his record of where he has never been knocked out? The fact that they have him weight drained the way they want him? I'm not a venomous hater of any fighter, but it's getting to the point of where I won't root for Pacquiao no matter who he fights if he keeps this up.

What do you expect ?

A trainer is going to try and give his fighter the best possible chance to win the fight. If he sees something that he feels his fighter can take advantage of, then by all means, shouldn't he do just that ?

What would you rather him do ?

Set his fighter up for failure ? Pacquiao is moving up a division to fight arguably the best welterweight in the world, giving up a lot of size and strength.

His team has to find every possible advantage they can.

buc u really are goin way over your head here, Manny is not the god you put him to be, he will NOT beat Miguel, he cannot take his punches. Just because he knocked Hatton out in 2 rounds doesnt mean that he will demolish anyother fighter in the same way. Hatton was VERY open the whole fight not covering his face at @ and got caught with the perfect hook wit force. Now we all know that Cotto can take alot of those all day, even though the Hatton hit would most likely catch ANYBODY for a KO but the percentage is small dude. That's fine, but if Pacquiao is going to keep fighting guys of where it's such a forgone coclusion that he is going to win, the PPVs he does will never get any of my money. Cotto has already been exposed by Mosley. Mosley showed the blueprint to beating Cotto, is pressure. Margarito confirmed that pressure beats Cotto(handwraps or not idc).

Pacquiao is not a pressure fighter. I think that Pacquiao will KO Cotto with sheer speed, power, and accuracy, not pressure. But if he can put any kind of pressure on Cotto then he should add that to the handspeed advantage that he has over Cotto.
