Shane Mosley's back is against the wall big time.

A question on everybody's minds who follow the career of Sugar Shane Mosley is what will be his next move? He has some options, but not the kind that brings him the money he is looking for. But with this fight between Williams and Pavlik in negotiations, this means that he will likely not fight again for the rest of the year if Williams swallows his pride and signs on the dotted line for the Pavlik fight because HBO probably wouldn't have enough money in their budget to finance a Mosley fight. But an interesting question to me is could Mosley move up to Middleweight and fight Pavlik if Williams does not take the offer on the table?

We already know he is not going to fight Berto. And I can understand that because HBO has given Berto undeserved amounts of money to fight bums. And now that there's a fight we want to see we are **** out of luck because Berto is happy to get $700,000 paydays to fight opponents like Juan Urango.

I just think that if Mosley took the fight against Pavlik and threw a wrench in the negotiations it would make Williams look really bad. And I faulted Mosley for not fighting Williams because of the repercussions it has caused. As mentioned earlier Mosley may be out for the rest of the year if the fight between Pavlik and Williams gets signed and he would have likely made at least $3 million if what Goosen said is true. The angle of beating Pavlik would be the fact that Mosley would join a company of fighters to move up from Welterweight to Middleweight to win the title there, and he would get a nice chunk of change to fight Pavlik.

SSM will fight Berto. If he's comin back in December, that's just about a full yr between fights. Too long a layoff for him to face Clottey, if he'd face him at all anyway. And the layoff can still mean trouble in a Berto fight, tho I think SSM would still win it.

He pretty much said this is what he would do when interviewed on Versus Thursday night.

Yeah. That's not good at all man. And I'm not even convinced that HBO will be able to fund that alleged December fight if the Williams-Pavlik fight gets made. I think if Williams doesn't muster up the courage to fight Pavlik, then HBO should let Pavlik fight Mosley.

I know some people would rip Pavlik for it because he's already taken a calculated gamble in what appeared to be a safe business decision against Hopkins. But I think people have been too hard on Kelly here lately. Yeah, that fight with Abraham didn't come off. But I think that had more to do with the money not being there than Pavlik being afraid of him. HBO didn't propose any money for that fight probably to protect Pavlik up to a certain extent, but still people get the idea. And this **** that Williams is pulling is something Kelly has no control over.
