The Brock fight was a pretty average performance untill Klitchko knocked him out. He did a job on an old Ray Mercer which might have been classed as one of his better performances. Klits best performances are when he is almost knocked out

The most misconception on boxingscene is that every single close fight is a robbery...

Another misconception on boxing scene is that its ok to have close fights that were judged improperly or those fights that "could have gone either way."

Another misconception in boxingscene is that Mayweather 'ruined' Hatton.

            1. Wlad Klit is a boring fighter.
Listen....I'll be the first to admit that his fight against Sultan was a snoozer. I'll even admit it was Dr. Steel hammer's fault. However looking at his other fights I will say the guy is cerebral, not boring. He pushed for the KO against Chris Byrd and Calvin in Brock in what were devastating KOs. Many others suffered the same fate. His fight with Sam Peter was interesting as well because you could see When Sam got to him he would drop him. Yet the Dr was able to fend him off and even rock him late. He punished Brewster and got revenge in another cerebral effort. I think the issue is not that he is boring but that we need someone to actually challenge him and put him in uncomfortable situations. The guy KOed Ray Austin before he got a chance to even throw anything heavy. That is the real issue.

            2. Floyd Mayweather went out of his way to avoid guys at welterweight. I can understand how somebody who recently got into the sport could say this. In fact its very popular point of view these days. As a fan of Floyd I want to see him fight Cotto/Mosley ect...But I also remember how Floyd's run at welter came to be. The Judah fight would have been for the undisputed Welter title. Beating the man at the weight would have made Floyd ultimately...the man. One problem..Judah lost to a journeyman. So now what? People generally wanted to Floyd vs Judah and some picked Judah to win. (In hindsight it looks foolish but its true) So the fight happened. To be honest it was more of a risky fight at the time than people admit. These days People don't give Judah the same respect but some pretend that Judah was lowly regarded when him and Floyd fought. I digress, After the Judah fight he fought the guy who beat Judah. Baldy in his upset of Judah and defeat of Gatti(RIP) got himslef enough TV time for PPV showdown against Floyd for the WW crown. I knew Baldy wouldn't win as did most of you. But lets not forget that some people (cough) Manny Steward (cough) gave him a good chance. Besides the point. Floyd came into the division at a terrible time. My only issue with him is he should have looked to fight Cotto at some point. But Floyd had the true WW crown so Cotto is just as much to blame for not pursuing the guy with the most pull in the division. The Hatton and De la Hoya fights were not going to be turned down by Floyd or any fighter in the space of 140lbs-154lbs. Money is Money. He should fight some combo of Mosley/Cotto now that he is back though. Fair is Fair and right is right.

            3. Because Miguel Cotto has fought for vacant titles he somehow is less of a champion. Cotto has not had an easy journey through the Welter weight division. I could care less how he got the belts because he defended them against some monsters. Regardless on how you scored his fight with Mosley, he fought him. Risky fight for any young Champion. Ask Tony. His resume at welter including Judah/Mosley/Tony/Clottey is a impressive in itself. I don't see to many welters except for Clottey eager to fight Paul Williams so that's forgivable. The guy is promoted by a stable that plays politics at times but he always shows up and does his Job. The only Welter that I can think of that actually succeed in getting in the ring with a lot of the top welters while the division was stacked. I know I know but Paul Williams challenges to the entire division for the most part fell on deaf ears.

I will post some more when I get a chance.

I understand. I guess what I am getting at is that the perception of them being boring trumps everything they do even if they are not boring. To each his own.

True. I love to debate so for that reason alone I am happy that we don't all agree all the time.
