John Ruiz... ain't he a stinker?

Sorry to start a thread stating the obvious, but I finally got a copy of Ruiz vs. Golata the other day - I had to switch it off after two rounds. Apparently you can get it free from the chemists' if you suffer from insomnia.

What I can never get over and never will is his seeming belief that hitting someone twice and then grabbing them so they can't hit you back is boxing. I know, I know, it's stating the obvious, but sometimes you can't really take in just how much he stinks until you watch him again, can you?

How the referees don't see it as excessive holding I don't know. The Queensbury rules are quite clear - no hugging or wrestling allowed.

people who get DQ'd tend to be doing nothing but holding (eg Lewis-Akinwande), but that's not what Ruiz does - he actually does damage in the clinch. Not that I think that's right, but there you go
