1) u made 146 easy and beat a huge WW in clottey. Surely u can beat a former 106 lber just 1 lbs lighter.
2) if u didn't like 145, then don't sign the contract.
3) if u don't want your belt on the line, then don't sign the contract.
4) u don't have to fight pac, so why are you being pac's little ***** **********? Simply walk away, u won't get the biggest payday of your life but atleast you'll have the wbo belt.
2) He did like 145 and that's why he signed the contract and so did Pacquiao, WHO AGREED to the fight not being a title fight.
3) They both signed the contract knowing the belt was not on the line. Only now does Paquiao want the belt.
4)Paquiao? either you want the belt or you don't and they BOTH agreed to fight at 145 as a NON-TITLE match, now paquiao wants the belt....fine at 147, where cotto won it.
PLEASE stop trying to spin what paquiao is doing. Fight at 145 with no title or 147 with title. Very simple, you have the bigger purse.Comment

what makes me laugh is everyone saying, "he mad 146 in his last fight, he can easily drop one more pound."
next we'll hear, "he made 145 i his last fight, surely he can make 144."
one pound at that level, when you are cutting weight, dehydrating, and so on, is extremely hard to lose. Especially when you are near your limit, cotto's limit being 146-147 most likely.
Cotto is going to be sacrificing a lot to make 145. So why put his belt on the line? It's a welterweight belt. If your fighting at welterweight the limit is 147, if pacquiao wants the belt than the fight should be at 147. It makes perfect sense. If cotto's going to be sacrificing so much to make 145, a weight he hasn't seen in years, why put his welterweight title on the line?
Cotto's winning anyway, so all this will mean nothing.
also, cotto didn't sign the contact for s title fight. Cotto signed to fight pac at a 145 pound catch weight. Pac is the one who later decided he wanted the title on the line. So you should be saying pac shouldn't have signed the contract if he didn't like it. But we all know pacquiao signs anything you put in front of him, hell he tried fighting for golden boy and top rank lmao.Comment

Pullcounter you are one ****** motherfer. Keep reading it over and over until your primitive *****noid brain understands it.
"Championship belts will not be on the line in this fight because of the catch weight of 145 pounds, 2 pounds lower than the 147 welterweight limit. However, even without belts on the line, what is more important is that Cotto and I will fight for the No. 1 pound for pound title which guarantees an active fight, no running, no retreating, no chasing around."

Cotto is in the right
Fact is, Cotto has every right to be strict about this. Manny is getting the lion's share of the purse, Cotto agreed to a catch weight. However, I firmly believe the title should not be on the line at a catch weight. The belt should be contested at the weight limit of the belt, which is in this case 147. Manny had no problem agreeing the 147 limit when he faced De La Hoya so I see no problem in him agreeing to fight at that limit again if he wants the belt so bad. I think Freddy knows this is not De La Hoya and Manny will be in for the fight of his life. Since it is a voluntary fight and not a mandatory, Cotto does not have to put the belt on the line if he doesn't want to. If they try to force him to defend it, he'll just vacate the belt, and he has every right to. If he wants the belt, have him go up to the weight limit of that belt. Catchweights should be for non-title matches only. If the champion agrees to put the title on the line at the catchweight, then fine. However, if the champion refuses, that's his decision, he is the champion.Comment
