Why Does Pacquiao Gets All This Credit For Facing Bigger Mans and Cotto does not?

Wow, whats that 5...5 out of 50+ fights were Pac rehydrated a few pounds over his opponent is hardly "usually".

Fact of the matter is Pac has been climbing weight classes for years and thats what he gets credit for. Cotto has been at 147 for a while and he's fighting WW's. If he fought middle weights that'd be another story.

Cotto as well outweighs his opponents.

Clottey is the only fighter that Cotto weighed less than.

He outweighed everyone at 140. And weighs the same as Margarito and Mosley at WW fight night

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that I'm assuming that pac's weight gain is all water weight. I've been a long distance runner for nearly 15 years and I'll tell you that almost every endurance racer usually over-hydrates (not to dangerous levels of course) in preparation of their races to lower the risk of dehydration.

We all know Pac has incredible stamina and he relies on being able to be at full speed all 12 rounds so it makes sense for him to carry a little more water so he doesn't gas during the fight.

lol... nice try... but are there officials at the weigh in? are they weigh on there clothes? with ***elries? is the place where the weigh in done on a balance platorm? So many things to consider, and I'm not sure but on one forum they even said some fighter's like to weigh more than there actual weigh to have a mental advantage...

Cotto does'nt even allow fight night weigh-in but thats not the issue, Cotto has been Welterweight for a long time, and Pacquiao's exhibition at welterweight he weigh-in at 142 at the official weigh-in.

So whats your point, you think that neither deserve any credit for fighting people that are physically larger than them because they weigh more?!? Some people's bodies hold more water than others and who knows how the fighters are weighed unofficially. Maybe one guy took a healthy crap before the unofficial weigh in or left their warm-ups/shoes on, there's a good 2-3 pounds right there.

These guys don't care what their unofficial weight is come fight night. They care if they feel good and are concentrating on their fight, not an unofficial scale.

dont they weight in a the same place?? so if the platform is not balance then it would be for both fighter. its not like manny gets nake for the weight in. he got clothes and most likely the other fighter do to

Thats my point, we don't know. I have ask this question a number of times on different forum even here in BS, but nobody knows how they are weigh. So are we gonna assume?

why cant we assume with pacquiao when we have an unofficial weight in but people are quick to assume cotto's weight when we dont get an unofficial weight in?

Thats what I've been saying. I even ask that question when the Mayweather fans where saying Cotto would hydrate too much weigh and saying it like it is an absolute fact, all we can do is assume. But on this fight Cotto would have the advantage on size based on that he have multiple fights at Welterweight so he would be more comfortable and this is only Pacquiao's 3rd fight above 135. Skills and Determination win fight not weight, thats why I hate it that they made this a catchweight.
