    The Mayweather Tactic

im not a big fan of mayweather, i gotta admit he is good but he is very smart too. mayweather had gone through a lot of fights already, now he is just setting up waiting for the big names and wait for them to be soften up. i think that he chose marquez for we all know marquez went through a lot during the pacquiao 2 fight and the diaz fight. im not saying it would be an easy fight but you and i know mayweather got this. then he gets a lot of good chances for the cotto-pacquiao fight. let me explain. if pacquiao losses to cotto he would still fight pacquiao, why? it's still pacquiao who will have a bigger follower than cotto right? plus pacquiao would be easy since a monster has soften him up and is on his way to a good retirement after the cotto fight. also since pacquiao lost to cotto and mayweather won against marquez then he can ask for a bigger share of the pot. now even if he would be pitted against cotto, well it's still good for him since cotto is far more damaged. just put on a defense, cotto gets frustrated then money may can pot shot his way through victory. ***** tactics yes! but a win is a win homie.

now let's put it in reverse. if pacquiao wins against cotto but in a brutal war. mayweather still has chances for all we know he is a very defensive fighter and this fight with marquez won't be a war but more of a chess game. assuming pacquiao wins and what everybody is waiting for happens. i think mayweather would be pulling it off. it's just hard for a fighter like pacquiao going into a brutal war then fighting a very slick, defensive, frustrating fighter like mayweather. pacquiao has to have a very strong mentality for that type of **** to pull it off.

to sum it all up i just hope that pacquiao would be very smart with his fight with cotto to avoid damages. i want to see a very good fight if
    Pacquiao -Mayweather Clash happens.

mayweather is an extremely shrewd matchmaker (although hopkins does run him close on the cherry picking) and imo can beat just about everyone at 140-147 right now. imo the only guy who gives him a fight is clottey and SSM but even then i wouldn't put it past mayweather to squeak out the decision against both.

i think you have to give PBF credit for having a style that means he won't get hit alot, and he won't take alot of punches. PBF is a more complete fighter than cotto and pac, cotto can't fight off the back foot and pac has yet to be really tested at the higher weights.

PBF is in such a good position right now because his (potential) next three fights involve fighters with massive followings - JMM, pac and cotto. i can see mayweather facing both cotto and pacman, once the loser is given a chance at rebuilding himself. no doubt he'll harp on about how hes the king of PPV and does the best numbers blah blah blah.....

      That's a pretty good assessment.

Though, the fighting of softened up opponents can also be said of Manny.

mayweather is an excellent defensive fighter but on offense he doesn't entertain me much. i really don't think that mayweather is the king of ppv since he doesn't have a lot of followers to put numbers on his ppv. sorry bout that.

i don't think so because it is manny who is climbing up fighting bigger opponents not on the higher weight class asking little softened up guys to go up and be slow. nah what i mean if we are going to talk in that type of manner.
