Khan vs Salita, Early Negotiations Initiated

This is the right fight for Khan. He has to fight Salita anyway, so he may as well fight him early as part of his progression. Khan vs Maidana can come afterwards, provided neither fighter loses.

Khan to win by lopsided decision or late stoppage. Salita doesn't look to have enough power or enough speed to trouble Khan.

I feel this would be a good fight for khan because in all fairness the only name on his resume worth mentioning is kotelnik. Without a doubt khan has been fast-tracked to this world-title but fights against guys like salita will bring him on more. He's not ready for punchers yet, all the haters want to see him in with a puncher. I say give him a few more fights and let him settle and develop into his new style, then fight guys like maidana. Khans only 22 and he can't avoid punchers for his whole career.

But, he's not ready for them just yet!

knew this would happen. i have no excitment for this fight, salita cant punch and isnt no were near as skilled as khan. khan easy ud. this is such a risk free fight for Khan.

What the ***....Khans just beat kotelnik...and pretty decisively, hes 22, hes had 22 fights....the next mandatory fight should be his win (i think i havnt seen this guy much 2 judge but i know khan is good)....why not take this and gain more experience?

Why does he have to rush into big fights where he might not stand a chance just to make you happy? This is his career not yours its easy for you to call what the shots should be

ppl saying stuff like Khan shouldnt have to fight big punchers because he is building his career should rember he is now the World champion and a a world champion should have no fear of facing any opponent regardless of how hard he punches, the title is for the best fighter and if you aint the best you have no right holding that title, if this maidana is the Mandatory which im sure he was as he had an eliminator for a shot then Khan should fight him, funny how all of sudden Salita is the mandatory, Warrens grip over this organisation is disturbing.

People still can't see to grasp the fact that it's a MANDATORY DEFENSE, which means you HAVE to face them or you lose the belt. And anyways, he's 22, he will be around for ages and will fight the other contenders/titlists soon enough. He certainly got it easy with this fight considering the talent at 140 right now (Bradley, Alexander, Campbell, Maidana, Ortiz).

Salita isnt the mandatory all of a sudden, Salita WAS and HAS been the mandatory for about 18 months now, Please read up on your boxing...Maidana is an interim champion because the WBA didnt really agree with the scoring in his fight with Kotelnik so they sanction his fight with Ortiz for the interim belt.

Salita now wants to exert his rightful position has the only mandatory not maidana...
