Caguas. Miguel Cotto is ready to vacate the title Welter of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) if the chairman of that body, Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel, insists that the belt is defended vs Many Pacquiao on November 14.
"The weight of 145 pounds is not a category. If the WBO is upset with the decision, we will vacate the title. I have no problem with that, "Cotto said during an activity to introduce its line of clothing.
"The WBO has the authority to dismiss me as champion and with plessure I give them the title. "Paco" Valcarcel, better than anyone, knows that 145 pounds is not a division, "added cagüeño.
During negotiations for the duel Cotto-Pacquiao, filipino representatives insisted that Cotto down to at least 143 pounds as a condition for agreeing to fight. However, the fight was finally signed in mid-weight of 145 and with no title involved.
"If Pacquiao wants a fight for the title, it will be 147 pounds. I won the title in the Welter weight and that's 147 pounds, "said Cotto.
"In this battle the title went to second fidle as the fight was agreed at 145 pounds. Later on more opportunities will open with other agencies, "he said.
Return to the gym
Cotto, on the other hand, revealed that early next week will be back to the gym to begin light work in preparation for their commitment to Pacquiao.
"We still have a long time, but I want to make things lighter. It will not be five days a week, but two or three with Phil Landman (her personal trainer) plays the Island, "said Cotto, who after completing a promotional tour of three cities of United States in September, will remain in Tampa Florida, for the duration of training camp.

During an interview with this newspaper, the trainer of Pacquiao, Freddie Roach, said that his fighter will KO Cotto, who yesterday responded to him strongly.
