Mexico .- The Costa Rican boxer Alejandro Martinez, 23 years old, has been reported in a state of induced coma in a hospital in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, where he died a week ago the Mexican Marco Antonio Nazareth.
Martinez lost his fight by unanimous decision of super fly weight before last Saturday Alberto Rosas, as he was preparing to travel to Mexicali, where he began to feel ill and was vomiting for which he was admitted to a hospital.
The initial diagnosis was dehydration, but doctors found an old injury in a lung that prevents it from adequately send oxygen to the brain which was subjected to surgery.
The promoters of the fighter, with sixteen fights won eleven of the expressway, two losses and one draw, reported that Martinez has shown a significant improvement, although doctors would provoke a state of coma to speed his recovery.
Martinez is the state of stable positive trend and has responded to treatment so that doctors hoped to recover.
