Matthew Hall Splits with Brian Hughes, Joins Karl Ince

Matthew Hall, 25, has decided to shake up his training regime after losing to brash Londoner Anthony Small earlier this month. Hall was visibly angered by Small during the build-up to the fight, and the Manchester fighter has since admitted that his training for the bout was not as good as it could have been. Consequently, he has moved from Brian Hughes’ Collyhurst gym, and is now working with Hughes’ former assistant, Bolton-based trainer Karl Ince. [details]

That Brian Hughes bloke was a complete tosser at the end of the Hall vs Small fight. Small came over to commiserate Hall and Hughes told him to "fucck off".......sore loser and seemingly a ****e trainer.

He needs to change trainer but he also needs to revaluate his style because squaring your shoulders up and closing distance slowly with little head movement looking for one shot is not gonna get the job done all the time.

Hall looked so one dimmensional against Small.

When he was forcing Small back he a degree of success but in the middle of the ring he got took to school.

If i were Hall id work on more upperbody movement and speed of hand and foot because those were severely lacking against small, particularly the lack of foot speed.

Hall definalty needs to do something about his style because although it's effective against guys who come to fight, it's ****e against slick boxers like small.

I do like hall but I doubt he could go much higher than domestic level. Could make european at best!
