Those who continue to bash on Hopkins...

If you bash Hopkins, you are missing out on a great fighter. He beats to his own drum. He plays the part of "executioner" but realistically, he is a thinking man's boxer. Very intelligent in the ring. Doesn't waste energy and rarely gets hits with combonations. He might be boring, but he is great. If he fought like Gatti, etc..he wouldn't have made twenty defenses.

in ten years, he will be loved and missed by boxing fans.

True, true he is boring, but I guess that works...shyt 40 yrs old man. Hopefully his boringness doesn't come back to bite him in the ass bro like RJJ.

If he can get through the year fighting Taylor, Trinidad and then Johnson w/out getting forced to lean back THEN that will be some AMAZING-INTERGALLACTIC-OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD-FREAK-OF-NATURE shyt!

He will be a future Hall of Famer. But Nard doesn't deserve the pay he is demanding.

Not many fans want to see an "Executioner" outpoint an opponent. I wish Hagler was born in our era.

if you only like guys like Ponce DeLeon who just throws wild punches...then have fun watching him lose (he just lost his last fight)...

I am just upset that more don't show appreciation for greatness that we have right in front of us...so many people complain about "today's" fighters...yet ignore Hopkins because he doesn't fight like Mike Tyson anymore...if you don't think Hopkins can fight...please watch his marquee fights throughout his career...

No question about his achievements bro. It's just frustrating how a fighter of Nard's caliber fights below most fans' expectations.

Talk about his being an "Executioner".

About de Leon, I've always thought he wouldn't make it big time. He's much like Emmanuel Lucero, an unbeaten prospect waiting to be exposed.

A good counter puncher who doesn't pack a big punch will surely frustrate him.

I was young when he came to promonance(late 70's) but I watched every bit of it

Hakuna Matata as they say (No worries!). Hagler is ageless. Hagler's fights are rare (even now) where I come from, but I grab as much as I can!

I think Hagler would have slaughtered most of today's middleweights.

I agree for the most part, but a fight against Hopkins would be no slaighter..imo. I do think Hagler would be able to out point Nard over 12. Hagler was a superior boxer and and Nard couldn't do his "wear down tactic" against Marv. Marv would have given him a steady diet of right jabs and hooks.

I think he'd give Nard a fight like never before. Nard fights dirty, and so does Hagler at times.

However, Hagler shows more heart when hurt. And he punches legally non stop, unlike Nard who sets up some punches with a headbutt or low blow.

Again, sigh...
