Where is Alex Povetkin in all this? Suddenly he has disappeared out of view amidst all this Klitschko-Haye-Valuev crap. I don't know why he turned down Wlad when he offered him a fight in December. Rahman took it instead and we got yet another unexciting, onesided Wlad win. Povetkin is the only one who has beaten Chambers so far, so he should be a worthy opponent for either Klitschko brothers.

well in december alexander had an injury so he couldnt fight. now hes being trained by teddy atlas, and teddy atlas said that povetkin will be fighting a tuneup fight in september..as of right now i think wladimir and chambers are in talks of fighting

He's being a bigger ***** than Haye. He pulls out last year due to injury (nobody shat on him then, hmm...?), and now he wants a tune-up so he's pulling out of his September mandatory slot (again, double standards as to why nobody's ****ting on him for that).

The last guy he fought wasn't exactly a bum. 17-1 record. But then again, not exactly A-class fighter either. I think Atlas thought that Povetkin didn't have enough experience and wanted to give him a few more fights on the resume before eventually taking on Wlad. I think the size and reach disadvantage should be a factor for Povetkin, but he has shown considerable skills as well as strength and toughness. So he should have a chance to at least go 12 rounds with Dr. Steelhammer. I think he can give him a close fight, but if he tries to knock him out he's in for trouble.

His best chance is to outwork Wlad on the inside. And box him. Box and run, box and run.
