With recent news of boxers dying after taking shots they probably shouldn't have I have no problem with Cotto opting to bow out and give Margarito his props. I for one have just started boxing and currently sparring and I can tell you that taking shots even with headgear on is not fun. Doing what you have to do to preserve your life and career is nothing to criticize a boxer about. Had Cotto been injured during the fight permanently all the people making fun of him would probably be singing a different tune and saying the fight should have stopped.

I saw that also, and you know what I also believe that he did not train very well for this fight also because he was trusting his plaster. Thats why IMO Mosley took him out so easily.

Cotto did the right thing to take a knee and ask for the corner to throw in the towel. Thats how I saw it.
All this BS that he is mentally hurt is just that BS. If that was the case he would have avoided clotty.

You hear people like Atlas say that Margarito fight took alot out of cotto. I think Cotto showed more heart in Clottey fight than in ANY OTHER fight he has ever had. I think Clottey fight made cotto more dangerous in that he is not going out like he did in margarito fight. That is scary, considering Clottey is way bigger/stronger than pacman.
