Could Pacquiao take the type of punches Cotto landed on Margarito?

Pacquiao isn't just a speed fighter. He has speed you cant keep up with, power that will put you in a coffin, and pressure that will suffocate you.

Cotto isn't going to handle that too well. This will be one for the highlight reel
punch output is half of what is pressure in boxing.

pac doesn't RUN towards your hardest punches just to try and land on you like margo did

pac doesn't cut the ring as well as margo

pac doesn't have such a good uppercut

    pac isn't bigger than cotto

and no, pac doesn't have throw volume punching as well as margarito

don't get me wrong though. pac is a MUCH better fighter than margarito, but doesn't have his style and, if he had, he would get murdered by cotto or any top welterweight, so be thankful

No mistakes cause if he catches too many flush shots it will be a bad night
Or just stay perfect until the 7th round. After that, the beast is worn out and the fangs aren't showing.

Pacquiao is always on his opponents from the gitgo. He goes in and out, and is constantly throwing punches. That's pressure if I do say so myself.

He isn't like Margarito, I know that. I never said the styles are the same. I compared their punch volumes. Pacquiao almost eclipsed 150+ punches in one round against Hatton. Margarito throws upwards of 100 punches a round. See what I was getting at?

As far as I can tell this is the biggest question mark coming into the fight.
Cotto hits harder than anybody Pac has ever fought before, and with his timing, Cotto is going to land. How Manny reacts to that is going to tell us a lot.

Dude, you can't compare the type of pressure Margarito put on Cotto to what Manny will do. The size difference between the two is laughable. Plus, Pacquiao doesn't even fight that way. Where JMM was successful (countering, jab, waiting for the opening) is where I see Cotto (the much heavier puncher) giving Pacquiao problems.

We have yet to see Pacquiao fight a prime, true WW with power, good speed, and great accuracy.

There's a difference between being a speed fighter and being an elusive defender (which Pacquiao isn't so much of).
Boom, thats the problem with this people, they think Pac wont get hit, and he will get hi and hard

By your logic right? Seeing how Marquez and Cotto are NOTHING alike. Cotto shouldn't be able to counter-jab Pacquiao like Marquez did. Thus giving him very little problems at all.

BTW, punch volume is what I was getting at. Just refer to my previous posts on this page.

Yea Pac throws that, manny right?

Let see how manny he will throw when he gets hit and timed by Cottos jab and lefthook.

to throw 100+ punches you will have to leave your self open, Manny starts throwing 100+ punches from the get go and he dont see round 5!!!!

yeah, but who's to says that pac could continue that pace through 8-12 rounds against someone bigger than him?

pac HATES the jab, and cotto has a good one in both stances. this fight will be pretty even in you ask me, which is pretty darn good. i already have hotel reservations for that weekend

lmao. Go tell that to Oscar and Hatton. I'm sure they would beg to differ.
