That decision doesn't do him good. He screwed up two probable big fights for a match with someone who would bring him less reward. A win over either Klitschko would have been very big for Haye but he chose Valuev.
better contract terms, more money, if wins better bargaining chip having the wba belt if klitschkos come knocking. less reward, aye right you know your stuff.
and dont retort about beating one the klitchkos over valuev would give him more kudos because he would still be stuck in that bull**** contract on bull**** terms even as the wbc or the ibf/wbo/ibo champion

yeah i think that haye did the right thing in not fighting the klits right now, imo he should clean out everyone else and then look to make the fight with the klits. that way they won't be able to explot his sityation as an inexperienced HW, they'll know that there is no-one else to fight.
imo haye should fight valuev, then arreola then vitali. imo he should beat them all.
however haye and booth seem to have an unprofessional way of doing buisness. monte barret and the klits have all complained about the way that haye/booth have done buisness. if hayemaker promotions gets a bad rep it could put other fighters off from doing buisness with them in the future and could be used as an excuse by some promoters for why the fight doesn't get made.
