Junior Witter is aiming to set up a 'Battle of Britain' showdown with new WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan.
The 22-year-old Khan defeated former Witter victim Andreas Kotelnik with an impressive display at MEN Arena to lift his first world title.
Khan admitted afterwards he expected people to come looking for a fight now - and Witter follows WBA mandatory challenger Dimitry Salita in stepping up to the plate.
Witter challenges Devon Alexander for the WBC light-welterweight title on August 1 - and the Bradford switch-hitter is interested in a unification fight should he win back his belt.
However Witter, who claims he was offered the chance to fight Khan in the past, is not confident of the fight coming off.
"Khan looked OK, but I'd take care of him in just a few rounds," Witter told The Mirror.
"His people tried to get me to fight him earlier this summer - I doubt they will remember my name when I win the title again."
