Did Forrest Shoot His Gun?

Yeah so the various media says. He gave chase and there was fire between them. I don't think they said who shot first. Then Vernon thought the guys got away so he went back to the car. That's when he was shot from behind.. -
ok, this is the 1st Ive heard of that part. I knew everything else but I thought he just chased them, he thought they got away and then he turned back and was shot from behind. I always felt that there was something missing in that storyComment

Yeah, I hope people correct me if I'm wrong, but yeah as far as I know that is the case, even though some media are still saying that he just gave chase.Comment

They are saying that he got shot in the back a few times, he turned around a fired back but was overwhelmed by gun fire.
Forrest handled the situation correctly and like a man, and for that he deserves everyones respect.Comment

**** really? I hope they fry these bastards. Eye for an eye. I don't believe in letting people dwindle in prisons. There has to be balance. Has to be hard justice.Comment

I still don't understand why he would chase them. Dude doesn't have handcuffs. What the hell did he plan on doing if he did catch them or did he just want to shoot them?Comment

The reports are conflicting, to say the least.
But from all I've read and heard ; Forrest gave chase without firing his gun, and gave up the chase shortly thereafter. After that he was heading back to the gas station, when one of the men came out of hiding and popped him once in the back. Forrest went down, and then exchanged fire ; probably missing his shots widely as he was laying on the ground.
Then the guy came up to Forrest while he was on the ground, stood over him, and fired off several more rounds, including at least 1 head shot.
Nothing confirmed, but that's how I hear it went down.Comment

He was just trying to protect what was his, man.
In the heat of the moment it's easy to lose your cool and get caught up in the emotion.
It seems that Vernon was caught up in the emotion and wanted to get back what was his.
Plus his Godson was with him at the gas station and it's possible he felt that maybe his Godson was in danger and that he had to protect him.Comment
