Snuggle bunnies back then, at odds now over title bout? (AP Photo)Filipinos are on the march in support of their national idol Manny Pacquiao.
Yes, the Pinoys are lined up and ready for battle in the fight to convince the powers that be that yes, it is vital that Pacman fight Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14 with the WBO welterweight title on the line.
Yes, it is vital that Megamanny have a chance to win a record seventh weight division world championship.
With each passing second, more Manny soldiers are joining this fight before the fight.
Not counting the emails rolling in today to mlcmarley@aol.com, I have heard from over 11,000 of the MP Troops and one Newyorican who backs Cotto

Does the title being up for grabs in this 145 pound weight limit bout matter?
Arum said “nobody in the US cares” about that, that’s it a trivial and unimportant matter but 99.7 percent of the worldwide group of fans who have responded to the White Gorilla’s Roll Call disagree.
Many of them disagree vehemently, lashing out at “Sponge Bob” or calling Arum “a greedy, old man” who cares more about avoiding WBO sanctioning and promoter fees which are just petty cash in a multimillion dollar PPV TV promotion.
Here is a typical response, this one from Rick Dadula who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area (Burlingame):
Mr. Marley,
Please forward this email to whoever can reach the attention of Mr. Bob Arum so he can see how greedy he is in his assertion of people in america that pacquiao- cotto fight don't care if its a title bout or not. MR. Bob "Greedy" Arum WE DO FREAKIN~ CARE!!!. It's you who you who don't care. We're talking history in the making here and you just care about money and not the welfare of the fighter you're promoting. I almost respected you in your endeavour to give Mr. Pacquiao the opportunity to be the best, but your true color just came out with your greedy heart of not giving boxing history a chance. You still have a chance to recover yourself in the biggest mistake you have done. Please do the right thing.

I see no need for personal attacks or vitriol but I would like to regurgitate what the 77 year old Arum's opening remarks were on the media conference call which formally announced the Pacquai-De La oya bout.
Arum was singing a different tune back then as follows:
“It is an American Olympian fighting against the greatest athlete to ever come from the country of the Philippines.
"And, as a person of my age, I realize what the Philippines has meant to the United States, what its meant to the world.
"The Philippines people fought courageously with the Americans at Bataan and Corregidor in the Second World War."
Now they’re marching again, Bob.
Many are saying they will boycott the bout UNLESS Cotto risks the title belt.
Do you hear their cry? Will you heed their cry?
It’s time to do the right thing, Brother Arum.
Don’t cheat Pacman and his worldwide army out of this historic opportunity.
It's time, Mr. Bigtime Promoter, to give the people what they want.
Your choice is simple, Bobala.
You can be the hero or the heel.
