    What if Pac...

What if Pac doesn't seem so small come fight night. What if he weighs in at a healthy 145, comes in 150ish fight night and doesn't show a weakness to Cotto's bodywork (either avoids or unhurt)

I see too many people thinking Cotto is just too huge for Pac (and rightfully so). I'm just thinking that Pac wont really look that small next to Cotto and I'd be surprised if Pac doesn't train with some heavy-hitting body punchers to build up his resistance.

Will Cotto have the tools to beat Pac if his size and body-work is taken out of the equation? Will his timing be affective against Pac's syncopated style?

I'm assuming Cotto will definitely have to depend on his JAB A LOT!!!...that's what will kill Pacquiao's speed..Cotto can keep up with Pac in the center of the ring..cuz Cotto can stick and move..and throw jabs at unusual moments..that will confuse Pac..but Pacs flurries are deadly and powerful!..so if he gets off he can drop Cotto early!..I wouldn't count that out!

No. He came in 148 for Oscar at a 147 sanctioned fight. He wont weight 150.

Cotto isn't even going to weight 150 unless he pulls a houdini and somehow balloons up to 150+ in some way and surprise me to death.

Cotto isn't going to out jab Pacquiao. If Cotto comes in with that game plan... he is going to end up like Oscar. That was Oscar's gameplan. If he comes in thinking body punch.... he will end up like Hatton.

I agree, I think Cotto will have to work the Jab more than he's used to, however, I keep thinking of Pac's training for DLH which basically was to nullify/counter his jab.

I love both fighters but looking at things from a strategic standpoint, I don't see Cotto bringing anything to this fight that Pac hasn't already countered (or prepared to) in previous fights aside from his size and that's a gap that has been getting smaller and smaller over the past 2 years.

If memory serves me correct, Pac creeped up to 149 for Hatton fight night, you must be joking if you think Cotto won't be fighting at 155+ there's no reason for it.

its a bad idea for cotto to stay in the middle as pac always needs space throw his 1 2's he should stay in close and just watch out for hooks then counter to the body.
if cotto will try and box pac from a distance using jabs he will sleep early.

Yeah, I thought Cotto is usually like 158-160 lbs. come fight night.

Cotto's Jab is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better then DLH's..and Cotto's timing and speed is underrated..that's why so many people were surprised to see Cotto beating Mosley to the punch in the center of the ring..Cotto can keep up with Pac as far as the speed and timing goes..true story..

Cotto keeps his right hand close to his jaw..so that should/would neutralize Pacquiao's left cross..so Cotto can left hook to the body..

Pacquiao needs to be on his toes all night to beat Cotto and take him to the later rounds with out being seriously hurt to the body himself..if he can do that Pac can UD Cotto or even TKO him late..but if he decides to stop and trade..Cotto is VERY accurate and will test Pacquiao's chin with TRUE Welterweight POWER!!

are u kidding me brah? cotto was way past junior middleweight & hovering at middleweight on fight night.

He'll be at the very very least 154+ on fight night.

You can only pack on so much healthy weight in 1/2 a day. Dropping below 147, it will be hard for Cotto to balloon up above 150. Thats saying he puts on more than 5 pounds of water before a fight and maybe 1 or 2 meals(more if he eats small meals).

edit- maybe I am underestimating Cotto though. I dont think his nutritionist coach is going to let him put on unhealthy weight though.
